Parishioners' Projects

Share Foundation - The SHARE Foundation has been set up to fund nursing projects for the poor and disadvantaged in third world countries. Its purpose is to provide free nursing care for the infirm, elderly and terminally ill in the low-income groups. We have extended our nursing care to the physically and mentally disabled in these underprivileged communities. The object of the project is to assist in the support and care of patients in their homes and to promote the prevention of ill health by providing health education to the public. Our key areas of focus are for the socially disadvantaged: care for the elderly, terminally ill, mentally and physically disabled.

Celine has just returned from Sri Lanka and reports that the five main projects are continuing to progress. The project also has a new web site at, through which it is possible to make donations.

While Celine was in Sri Lanka she had the opportunity to celebrate one project's 15th anniversary with a thanksgiving service, followed by a lunch for the members of management, volunteers and staff and also handing over food packets for the most needy in the area at Kotahena. We repeated the same to celebrate our 10th Anniversary at Kalutara which is our second project.
