Job Vacancy

Barnet Refugee Welcome Board Furniture Appeal If you would like to donate any of the above items please deliver them to Sacred Heart Presbytery. Our communities responded very generously to earlier appeals made during April. We have already delivered “in-kind” donations of TVs to newly arrived refugee families and have lined up several offers of infant needs including cots, high chairs, buggies, changing mats, clothes, toys etc. We are compiling a database of offers and will be calling them forward as accommodation becomes available for newly arriving families, in order to save double handling of these “gifts in kindness. “ So a HUGE thank you to those who have responded positively to earlier appeals.  As more families arrive, Barnet Homes is securing UNFURNISHED accommodation and refugee families will therefore need many and various home supplies, including: BEDS – mattresses, bed linen, duvets, blankets, pillows DINING TABLE & CHAIRS CHEST OF DRAWERS SOFA & ARMCHAIRS  WARDROBE & CUPBOARDS COFFEE TABLE –TV stand WHITE GOODS – fridge, freezer, washing machine, cooker If you can make some of these items available, please email your offer (with a digital photo if possible) to: reservepower@hotmail.com We will add your offer to our database of “in-kind” donations which Barnet Homes can call on.  We will try to ‘match offers with needs’ so direct transportation can be made to accommodation, saving double handling

Volunteering at the Passage

In the past year, fifteen of our parishioners have been regularly volunteering at The Passage day centre for the homeless. They have given in excess of 3000 hours of their time working on tasks including:

Our parish received special mention in a recent Passage volunteering newsletter as follows:

Passage Ambassadors - A development of this would be to assemble a group of supporters in a parish who could help to keep the idea of helping The Passage in mind in a parish and help promote Passage fund raising events. This has worked very well in Sacred Heart Mill Hill and we would be interested in having similar groups elsewhere.

If you would like to know more about how you could help - please get in touch with: Fr. Kevin or Chris R via the Presbytery.
